Detailed itinerary

Day 1: pick up and drive to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up from Kampala and drive to Fort Portal with lunch en route. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. From this lovely town we will continue to Kibale National Park.

Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Swamp walk

After early breakfast, you will engage in chimpanzee trekking which will start with a briefing at the park headquarters. You will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others.

After lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for an exciting nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates.

Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp

Day 3: drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast we shall drive to Fort Portal while we pass the crater lakes area, a beautiful landscape with small lakes and rolling hills. From Fort Portal we continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will engage in an evening game drive in search of elephants, buffalos, antelopes, hippos among others.

Dinner and overnight at Simba Safari Camp.

Day 4: Game drive and Boat Cruise

Your day will start early with a morning game drive and head to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning for lunch.

In the afternoon we shall engage in a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. You will also see abundant birdlife as well as elephants, buffalos, hippos among others.

Dinner and overnight at Simba Safari Camp.

Day 5: drive to Bwindi National Park

After breakfast we shall be driven towards the south, passing the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth national park called Ishasha sector which is famous for the tree climbing lions. From Ishasha, we shall proceed to Bwindi national park.

Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi National Park

You will have early breakfast and go to the Bwindi park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. You will move with ranger guides for your encounter with the gorillas and enjoy observing them closely while they eat, play and rest.

A unique and unforgettable experience limited to one hour in the presence of the gorillas of Bwindi forest and you will later return to the lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge.

Day 7: drive to Lake Mburo national park

After breakfast we shall start the journey from Bwindi national park to Lake Mburo National Park and take some photos at the Ugandan equator. You will have lunch and in the afternoon enjoy an evening game drive in the savannah.

Overnight at Rwakobo rock lodge

Day 8: drive to Entebbe and Departure

You will enjoy a morning nature walk in Lake Mburo national park and get close with nature after breakfast at the lodge and later drive back to Entebbe where you will be dropped off which will bring the safari to an end.
