Detailed itinerary
Day 1: pick up in Entebbe and drive to Kibale Forest National Park
You will be picked from Entebbe international airport and your guide will welcome you for the safari in Uganda. You will start the journey to Fort Portal and enjoy views of western Uganda including the Mountains of the Moon and tea plantations.
From Fort Portal town, we shall continue the drive to Kibale National Park.
Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 2: chimpanzee tracking & Bigodi Swamp
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is known for having a wide variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa.
You will walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the chimpanzee and also encounter red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. You will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzees and later visit the Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk organized by the local community and you will spot a diversity of birds and primates.
Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp
Day 3: drive to Bwindi National Park
You will have breakfast and transfer to Bwindi national park via Queen Elizabeth National Park. Late in the afternoon we will reach the impenetrable forest of Bwindi, home to the endangered mountain gorillas.
Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge
Day 4: Gorilla tracking
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will go for a briefing at the park headquarters in Bwindi national park. With your ranger guides, you will explore the Bwindi forest and spend 2 to 8 hourssearching for the gorillas.
You will spend 1 hour in the presence of the gorillas and later engage in an optional Batwacommunity tour for an experience of their way of life, traditional dance performances and more before returning to the lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge.
Day 5; Departure
After an early breakfast at the lodge in Bwindi national park, you will start the 8 to 9 hour drive to Entebbe and you will be transferred to Entebbe international airport for your departure flight.
